Common Safety Violations

The NHFS Rules are for all activities that your athletes participate in: practices, games, special events,
youth clinics, gymnastics/tumbling classes, camp, tournaments, competitions, etc.
These rules are to be followed!
Many officials, coaches, etc. have attended games and other events where some coaches have
allowed their athletes to break the rules. This is a very severe concern for all.
The rules are in place to uphold safety for all athletes!
Practices & Games:
Jewelry: belly rings, earrings, etc.
Hair: wearing hair down, wrong hairpieces, hard plastic/metal clips, etc.
Glitter: being worn on face, etc.
Nails: acrylic, too long, nail polish (recommended)
Clothing: inappropriate attire while stunting or tumbling (slippery, too big, etc.)
Stunting: Inappropriate times during games (while ball is in play), inappropriate places (wet grass, etc.), illegal stunt being done.

Tournaments:
Illegal skills being performed
Apparel issues (as stated above)
Unsportsman-like conduct: team to team, athlete/team/coaches/parents to officials, athletes/team/coaches to coaches, etc.
Unsportsman-like actions: swearing, taunting, harassing, etc.
No stunting or tumbling during play-off or tournament action games (even if it is in your home gym - NH Basketball Committee Rules)
This sheet is to make you more aware as a coach.
If you or your athletes are a witness to, or are a part of any unsportsman-like conduct,
please fill out an incident report and send it in. We want to stop these actions from happening
to create a better sport in our state.
